Dear readers, dear authors,
we invite you to read the contents of the first issue of 2020 and learn about the plans of Profese Online for the near future.
I am happy to introduce prof. Vladimir Janout as the new head of the journal, since January 2020. The Editorial Board has made some changes regarding the contents of the journal. From now on, each issue will be dedicated to a single topic. It will feature reviews, original research, and case studies on a particular topic, as well as information on upcoming conferences, seminars, and meetings.
This current issue is dedicated to dementia as a global impairment of intellect, memory, communication, and personality. The condition poses a serious challenge, considering it affects as many as 20% to 30% of people in the Czech Republic. The second issue of 2020 is planned to be dedicated to nurses. The journal celebrates the annual International Nurses Day to commemorate 110 year anniversary since the death of esteemed Florence Nightingale (12 May 1820 – 13 August 1910). The importance of nurses in medical care is appreciated by each of us. It has only grown in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, when nurses both in the Czech Republic and elsewhere around the globe have been on the frontline, risking their health and sometimes life.
Profese Online is going to continue as a multidisciplinary journal publishing on nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, anthropology, psychology, sociology, radiological assistance, public health, paramedics, and other fields. Our aim is to cover various specializations in health care, and above all highlight how closely connected these fields are so that we can better understand the comprehensive concept of improving the quality of care and developing the theoretical basis of all health disciplines. We believe that the trend is all the clearer in these COVID-19 times.
The Editorial Board seeks to motivate authors to publish in the journal with the following incentives:
All these efforts are aimed at increasing the quality of the journal in the international environment and at gradually indexing the journal in internationally recognized databases.
We would like to announce that Profese Online of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Palacký University in Olomouc is preparing a conference titled “The 1st Conference of Non-Medical Health Disciplines – Trends, Theory, Research, Practice" . The conference is held on 21 January 2021. The conference proceedings will be published in Profese Online. Information about the conference organization will be provided in advance.
We look forward to having you participate in the conference.
Dear readers, thank you for your support and we appreciate any paper you may submit to Profese Online.
Profese Online is here for you.
