Assessment and diagnostics of impaired mobility in pacients with rheumatoid arthritis

The main objective of this thesis was to score function ability and the effects of severe RA. Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) and standardised generic questionnaire Arthritis impact measurement scales 2 (AIMS2) were used. These instruments were analysed also regarding to nursing diagnosis: impaired mobility (code - 00085), according to NANDA International, taxonomy II. We ascertained moderate to severe disability in our patients with RA by HAQ-DI. Convergent validity of our Slovak version of AIMS2 instrument was assessed by correlation coefficients towards HAQ-DI. There were strong correlations between the HAQ-DI and 6 fysical functions scales of AIMS2 (p = 0,000). Internal consistancy coefficients for the 12 scales of AIMS2 were 0,76 - 0,96. HAQ-DI and AIMS2 instrument have excellent measurement properties that should be useful in confirmation nursing diagnosis impaired mobility in patients with RA.
