Using Mistrík's formula, these EM were subject to mathematical text analysis and the one most easily understandable and the one least understandable EM were identified. Subsequently, for each of these two EM, a listening test was created. In the listening tests, the degree of intelligibility of the texts was tested on lay public. Using a deliberate selection of respondents, 37 study...

Aim: The paper deals with the comparison of postural stability in two selected groups of probands: children with obesity and athletes. Methods: Posturographic examination was carried out in both groups through two tests - Limits of Stability (LOS) and Sensory Organization Test (SOT). Variations between individual groups were compared and statistically evaluated based on the acquired results. Results: Obesity as well as overall posture has a significant impact on postural stability. We demonstrated statistically significant variations in reaction time (RT) and maximum excursion in LOS test, and in SOT test in the choice of movement strategies...

Aim: Content validation of the nursing diagnosis Chronic confusion and identification of the defining characteristics in Slovak and Czech nursing practices. Methods: Fehring's retrospective Diagnostic Content Validity Model (DCV Model) was used. Experts were nurses who obtained minimum four points according to modified Fehring's criteria. The group of respondents comprised of 144 Slovak and 107 Czech nurses. Results: Slovak and Czech experts alike considered the following characteristics to be defining (weighted score higher than 0.75): altered interpretation and altered response to stimuli, progressive cognitive impairment, clinical evidence...

Aim: The aim of the study was to determine the frequency of subjectively perceived swallowing difficulties in clients of social institutions providing after-care, using a foreign instrument called Eating Assessment Tool (EAT-10). Another aim was to identify the amount of time required to administer the tool in practice. Methods: The tool EAT-10 was translated into Czech and its comprehensibility was verified in a pre-test. Finally, it was employed in interviews in five social institutions providing after-care. Before the respondents were interviewed, they were screened for cognitive functions via the Mini-Cog test, which was used to exclude from...
