This article presents theoretical study concerns with assessment tools cognitive functions of elderly. It offers summary of tools for assessment of cognitive functions of elderly in nursing research and practice. It analyzes common tools as MMSE (Mini-Mental State Examination) and SPMSQ (Short Portable Mental Status Questionnaire).

CONCEPTUALISATION OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN NURSING

Authors analysed the concept quality of life through three approaches: psychological, application and integrating approach. They focused on the conceptual difference between concepts quality of life, well-being and satisfaction in the psychological approach. They also analysed differencies between concepts health, health status and quality of life in evaluation of the application approach. In the third approach they integrated components and determinats of quality of life into specific theoretical framework. They used a method of conceptual analysis to determine defining characteristics of quality of life in nursing.

THE FLUID INTAKE IN ADOLENCENCE

The report describes the issue of fluid intake in adolescents. The aim of the research study was to find out whether fluid intake in adolescents was sufficient for the given age group. The research study used questionnaire method, which was comlemented by antropometry. The study found that fluid intake in adolescents insufficient.

INFLUENCE OF DISEASES ON LIVING PARENTS OF THE CHILD WITH ASTMA - PILOT STUDY

The goal was to map the impact of asthma bronchiale on the quality of life for families with children with the disease. Through a questionnaire to measure the quality of life of families child with asthma, Pediatric Asthma Caregiver's Quality of Life Questionnare, the authors looked subjective perception of the impact of disease on the lives of parents of children with asthma and problem areas in life that most concerns parents. The sample consisted of 21 parents whose children have Recondition stay in the High Tatras.
