Dear readers,
We would like to introduce briefly the current issue of the Profese online journal. The first issue of this year presents both thematic and content variety in the field of healthcare and paramedical branches. In addition to typically accepted contributions of research or review character and reviews of currently published scientific books, we decided to present the contribution of the Centre for Research and Science of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Palacký University in Olomouc at the very beginning, dealing with the problem of systematic review. We believe that it can serve as a guide and resource to the authors for their own development of systematic review.
In the research article part, the authors focus on the issue of the NIC nursing classifications and perioperative and security process in practice in their submissions, they examine psychological aspects of postponing of motherhood in the section of midwifery and they address the issue of education in healthcare sciences in the area of science and research.
There is a section devoted to literature reports included in the current issue as well. In the first article, the authors analyse the importance of education in the area of breastfeeding. In the second article, the authors describe the foreign experience of registered nurses in years 1920-1938 through a retrospective analysis of historical documents.
Some of these articles were written by students of the doctoral study program. The editorial office thus meets also one of its long-term goals: to publish also scientific articles of doctoral students in the Profese online journal and to support the activities of young authors and researchers.
The editorial staff has noted several important moments, primarily representing the steps taken to make the best fulfilment of conditions for evaluating on entry into the SCOPUS database, during the last six-month period. In fact, almost all of the adjustments and provision made depend on that goal, and we can classify them into the following four basic characteristics:
The need for coherence and consistency with the marketing name – the editorial board voted for the only used option, "Profese online", at the meeting on March 16, 2015. This title corresponds exactly to the entry in catalogue of the National Library of the Czech Republic and it is listed on the list of peer-reviewed non-impacted periodicals published in the Czech Republic in the same way.
The availability and transparency of history – summary of all the important moments of the whole period of existence of the magazine and structuring of the various stages according to fundamental changes in the way of organizing and processing of the received content, including the introduction of important legal documents and appointment of key individuals in the history of publication of the journal.
The need for promotion – highlighting the advantages of the journal for authors such as free reception of contributions, copyright protection and open access to content etc. We have also strengthened the creation and distribution of promotional material. The editorial office also offers cooperation in publishing contributions from scientific conferences, specialized seminars, etc.
The development of international cooperation – the "double activity", meaning acquisition of new foreign authors together with expansion of the editorial board by the foreign members. One of our achievements is the establishment of contact with Zhytomyr Nursing Institute in Ukraine, where the professionally related magazine called "Master of Nursing" is published and our professionals have been invited to scientific conference with international participation: "Higher education in nursing: challenges and prospects", which will be held on October 15 to 16, 2015 at Zhytomyr Nursing Institute. The Profese online journal is one of the media partners of the conference.
We would like to thank all the authors for the articles supplied and we look forward to their further contributions. We also thank to all the members of the Editorial Board and the reviewers for their cooperation.
