Dear Readers,

let me introduce the second issue of the Profese on-line Journal in 2014 with a short contemplation.

As the paramedical fields are increasingly trying to reach the scientifically recognized branches, more and more articles, whose scientific level rises, appear in the specialized literature. Faculty of Health Sciences at Palacký University in Olomouc decided to contribute by giving the opportunity to discuss scientific opinions in these fields at the highest possible level as well as by relatively strict control of the professional level of submitted articles, performed by the editorial board. Almost three quarters of articles unfortunately could not be approved for publication in our magazine after the review procedure. The journal seeks to improve its activities, namely on the formal, content, expert field and the participation of experts in the relevant field in the editorial board of the magazine. This year the chief editor and executive editor have been changed, and the editorial board has been complemented by domestic and foreign experts. Finally, the website of our journal have changed substantially.

Articles published in this current issue 2/2014 undoubtedly contributed to the scientific discussion within a relatively colorful composition of disciplines, such as physiotherapy, midwifery and geriatrics in a broader sense. I firmly believe that specialized topics of the articles enriches the awareness of the general scientific and non-scientific public, interested in paramedical fields, and brings them knowledge in published topics.

The journal, thanks to the support of Faculty of Health Sciences at Palacký University in Olomouc, is already relatively weel-known among professionals in the paramedical fields. We appreciate very much the fact that Profese on-line Journal has been classified again as a peer-reviewed non-impacted periodical published in the Czech Republic for 2015. By this we managed to meet one of our goals.

It depends very much on interest of scientifically oriented professionals in paramedical fields, whether the journal will be a successful platform for the exchange of expert opinions and for enrichment of experts on new knowledge. Faculty of Health Sciences at Palacký University in Olomouc and the editors of the journal are going to do their best to reach it.
