Aim: The aim of this study is to explore the attitude of the elderly receiving health care at home and those living in care homes towards their quality of life in activities of daily living.
Methods: In our study we used the internationally-known WHOQOL-BREF Questionnaire and the Barthel index of activities of daily living (ADL). The elderly living at home received the questionnaire from visiting nurses, residents of care homes from the nurses working in the care home. The study sample consisted of 140 elderly people.
Results: Statistical analysis did not confirm statistically significant difference in the attitude of the elderly living at home and those living in care homes towards their quality of life in daily activities.
Conclusion: The results of our study may be useful for nurses with geriatric nursing career.
