To find the differences between the chosen groups of patients by gender, age, medical diagnoses and days of duration of acute confusion.Methods: We used the Slovak version of the CAM (Confusion Assessment Method) scale. The Student's t-test and the Pearson correlation were used to evaluate the data.Results: The significant differences were found in the age groups, medical diagnoses and duration of acute confusion. No differences were found between the genders.Conclusion: We recommend the CAM scale to be used in the clinical conditions to identify acute confusion, and to be tested for its further use in nursing.
