AB  - Aim: To identify acute confusion by nurses in the conditions of the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic. To find the differences between the chosen groups of patients by gender, age, medical diagnoses and days of duration of acute confusion.Methods: We used the Slovak version of the CAM (Confusion Assessment Method) scale. The Student's t-test and the Pearson correlation were used to evaluate the data.Results: The significant differences were found in the age groups, medical diagnoses and duration of acute confusion. No differences were found between the genders.Conclusion: We recommend the CAM scale to be used in the clinical conditions to identify acute confusion, and to be tested for its further use in nursing.
